Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her parents were a mother who was an housewife, and her father who was a teacher. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started dancing and singing from a young age, and frequently performed plays with puppets for children in her area. In the year she turned six, McCormick was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask if the actress would be looking to pursue a career in showbusiness. McCormick got her first job as a major actress in the year 1964. She starred in an advertisement for Mattels' newest doll Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in Wind It Up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 200 auditioned kids, played the older of three two-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted five years. McCormick disclosed in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year run of the show. He was just 19. She was 16. The woman said it might have been possible, but we didn't have the proper time to do it.
