Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an educator at school and her mother as an at-home mom. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three oldest brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and would often perform plays with puppets for the kids in her community. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she was crowned her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted an inquiry from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she'd like to enter the show industry. McCormick landed her first major task in 1964 as she acted in a television commercial for Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show The Wind It up until It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the role of the youngest daughter of the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show lasted five years. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick almost lost her virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year run in the series. In 2008, she revealed in her book Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Identifying My True Voice, that during season five on the show, she nearly lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. The two of us could have been in a relationship, said she. However, the timing was not right.
